Find Your Voice: Stepping Into Your Purpose & Personal Legacy as a Yoga Teacher + Lunch at 221
Limited Capacity seats available

It’s impossible to be everybody’s yoga teacher. And yet, many of us strive to be all things to all students or we mimic what works for other teachers in the spirit of building community and getting sustainable “numbers” in our classes or other offerings. Join Gina Caputo, the founder and director of the Colorado School of Yoga, in this honest exploration of authenticity: your natural gifts, your passions and what you think the world needs more of. In doing this, you make it possible for who you are and what your offerings are to come through powerfully and unambiguously. Before we can optimize our teaching, we’ve got to have a clear sense of knowing what stokes our inner fire and where we can be of greatest service. Just because it hasn’t been done before doesn’t mean it isn’t right or important. In this half-day immersion we’ll illuminate our areas of resonance and next steps towards activating change and laying down legacy. It’s time! And afterwards, we’ll share a delicious 3-course meal together at the award winning and Top Chef owner, Eliza Gavin at  221 S. Oak to celebrate growth.  Vegan, veggie and fish options - none will disappoint!

Yoga, Fascia and the Feeling of Being Me
Limited Capacity seats available

Connective tissue (fascia) holds us together. Literally. It keeps our bones upright, our organs in place and supports the pathway of our nerves. A dedicated yoga practice nvolves moving layer by layer through these connective tissues. While fascia is the prime mover of the body, it is also a vessel for holding memory, feelings, dreams and identity. In this immersion we practice movements that enhance the flow of fascia through the body. We also track how thoughts, feeling, memory and a sense of "I" are imprinted on the connective tissues. Like working in clay, this yoga practice will make the fascia malleable, shapeshifting the container of who we think we are and who we think we ought to be.

Opening the Inner Eye of Yoga
Limited Capacity seats available

More than ever, we must find ways to open to new possibility. Theodore Roethke once wrote, “ In a dark time the eye begins to see.” In this practice, we bring lightness to the body in order to become centered and still. This involves opening the central pathway through the spine, mystically described as a shaft of light. In meditation, we open the eye of wisdom, to realize the freshness and clarity of each passing moment.

Moving Your Issues Through Your Tissues
Limited Capacity filling up

Posture-based yoga can be an incredibly powerful tool in understanding and renegotiating our relationship with some of today’s most common conditions like stress and anxiety. Our body-mind feedback loop affords us the opportunity to use our bodies to change our minds and vice versa. Instead of the blunt force approach of just doing a hard, fast yoga class to feel better, we’ll explore how practicing in a way that truly cultivates inner awareness and experiencing the totality of the sensations we experience in asana can help us work skillfully and intentionally with stress and anxiety when they arise.

Beyond The Yamas and Niyamas: Yoga in the Modern World
Limited Capacity seats available

Every yogi eventually passes through the doors of the yamas and niyamas - it’s why they are taught in almost every yoga teacher training. They are the pragmatic principles designed to guide our actions in a cause-and-effect world (“don’t steal,” “give credit where it is due,” “don’t lie,” “be clean,” etc.). We need human decency and accountability. But the yamas and niyamas only go so far and yogis are ready for more. Amy will give you her down-to-earth rundown of the yamas and niyamas and then lead you in a full spectrum practice that will help take you to the next level of grace and freedom in your life!

Samana Vayu: Digesting the Madness of the Modern World
Our ability to digest and assimilate over-stimulation, challenges and information from day to day, minute to minute, is integral to thriving in our fast-paced modern world. Samana Vayu is the action of our vital energy, or Prana, moving in the the center of our bodies and supporting our digestive and assimilation functions on the gross level of food AND the subtle levels of thoughts, ideas and experiences. Samana Vayu is epidemically weak in our culture because most of our energy and awareness is forced out, not in, due to the external nature of our lives. Join Sara Ward as we acknowledge this vital action in an all levels slow flow twisting class. We will cultivate focused awareness and intentional movements that strengthen our ability to not only digest and metabolize food but also to digest the madness of the world around us.

Kirtonica Dance Party with Jaya Lakshmi & Ananda!
Limited Capacity seats available

Do you love beautiful voice and instruments layered over world beats? Do you enjoy yoga, meditation, relaxing, or ecstatic free form dance? Join us for a gathering to hear world renowned Kirtan singers and musicians Jaya Lakshmi and Ananda and experience positive lyrics, ancient and powerful Hindu and Buddhist mantras, original material that will heal your heart, inspire you, create more flow of energy and make your soul soar!

‘Kirtronica’ is a term for a new genre of music that is currently being established in the yoga world: electronica dance music combined with live Sanskrit/Indian mantra chanting. Jaya Lakshmi was one of the pioneers of ‘Kirtronica’ with her previous band “Lost at Last”, founded in Maui, Hawaii in 1997. Over the last few years Jaya Lakshmi has composed original electronic music using Ableton Live. Similar to the the Lost at Last sound, her new music is a mixture of house, tribal trance, and down-tempo with recordings of acoustic instruments like tabla, guitar, and sarod, and Ananda on bansuri flute. In the current duo format performing ‘Kirtronica’ live, Jaya Lakshmi and Ananda lead participants through an ecstatic dance journey that awakens their shakti and encourages everyone to chant along, inspiring devotional trance states and deepening their connection with the divine. www.JayaLakshmiAndAnanda.com   http://store.JayaLakshmiAndAnanda.com

How to Face the Mess We are In Without Going Crazy*
Limited Capacity seats available

We see the mess we are in - the oceans, the earth, the pollution, the global warming, the overconsumption, the fears. We cannot retreat to our yoga studios and hide and our "Business As Usual" mindset. If we are here, we are awake, aware, and privileged. We have an obligation to get out there in the world, dig in, and "do the work," and to speak out and stand up for social justice, equality, and protection of our mother earth. With support from our sanga (community) and with strong, committed yoga practice, we can shift our cultural consciousness from "faster and farther" to "balanced and sustainable". We can avoid despair and helplessness and identify and overcome the obstacles that accompany every adventurer on every journey. Join Beryl and friends in interactive process by teaming up for discussion, and creating tips to take home.

Form & Formless: Yogic Deities & Enlightenment
Limited Capacity seats available

The Upanishads are Vedic scriptures that reveal the Formless Self in us. Enlightenment is the journey of Knowing the Self, abiding in the Self and seeing the same Self in others with love and compassion. Manoj will guide you through the 3 practices of non dualistic Advaita Vedanta philosophy: Shravanam (listening), Mananam (contemplation) and Nidhidhyasanam (abiding in the Self). The question then arises, what role do these deities such as Ganesh, Shiva, Lakshmi, Buddha,Tara play in this journey?. Through humorous archetypical story telling, discover your Isthadevata (personal archetype), uncover their secret symbolisms and learn the five ways to work with them as part of a practice towards spiritual awakening.
